We have done a lot in a little amount of time, and it’s difficult to keep up with it all. Here is a timeline of events so you can get caught up.
The Timeline
Residents provided 2 hours of comments during the commenting period of the Leavenworth County Commission meeting and work session. Commissioners kept the 90 day moratorium as is. (There was discussion to separate the battery storage and cryptocurrency portions from the moratorium.) The moratorium will be over August 10, 2026.
Cloverleaf held an open house at Grounded Coffee in Tonganoxie, KS. Grounded Coffee is operated by the Tonganoxie United Methodist Church, the same church where city council member Rev. Matt Wilke is the pastor.
Tonganoxie’s community petition was ruled “administrative” instead of “legislative” and therefore NOT VALID. Mayor David Frese said the council may consider their own moratorium.
Held at Irvine’s Just Beyond Paradise Winery, we took some time to let loose and meet people. Also, we had a silent auction fundraiser. Kansas gubernatorial candidate Stacy Rogers surprised us with a visit.

Community Meeting “Tonganoxie data center moratorium kick-off event” held at Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 9271 Tonganoxie, Kansas. This information meeting also served as the kick-off event for the Tonganoxie Data Center Development Moratorium Petition. Roughly 130 residents attended. News organizations also attended.
