Motion for Moratorium on County Level Fails

Leavenworth Board of County Commissioners (BOCC) fails to pass a motion (vote of 4-1) (Commissioners Culbertson, Dove, Smith and Reid voting nay), regarding Resolution 2026-9 providing for a moratorium on application for data centers in the unincorporated area of Leavenworth County. However, BOCC “Commissioners then passed a motion to approve a cost funding agreement with Cloverleaf, doing business as Western Meadowlark ProjectCo. Under the agreement, the company will establish a fund with an initial amount of $450,000 that can be used to fund county expenses for the use of third parties, such as consultants, for review work for the proposed data center project.
